JLA--- Thanks for the post, I was beginning to worry. I am glad to hear of your daughter's birthday, and sorry to hear of the family loss. I hope you were able to take your wife out on Mother's Day, and thank her properly for your children. We went to a provincial french restaurant, but ended up eating veal piccata, going on Saturday to beat the crowds. Then we went to Washington today, saw a wonderful exhibition of John Singer Sargent at the National Gallery, visited my mother and one grandmother, and got a flat tire on the way across Washington. We ended up in the back of the Kennedy Center, and waited 2 hours for the various incompetents involved in my (soon to be former) auto club to get it together. The hubcap and rim had been damaged, and it is a new car, so I wanted professional service. On the other hand, the weather was marvelous, and we were right by the Potomac, one of the truly beautiful rivers of the world. All in all, a full weekend... |
