Al: Thanks for the info. . Yes...I agree we are on the same wavelength regarding the protection of our mkt. Everyone needs to realize that top mgmt is paid to maintain/increase their mkt share in their particular segment. If necessary...those that have a stake in their segment do not want others to challenge/take away their position(s)...far better to keep the Europeans out of the area. Ericsson is out of the picture specifically for the reason(s) you mentioned...lack of CAPITAL to pull off the deal and the concurrent restructuring costs. That leaves only you know who...Siemens. Siemens wants the technology to sell to the European telos...that is why I believe we will see some sort of news prior to coms shareholder mtg in Sept. Coms mgmt has about a month and a half "window" or wiggle space to come up with a strategy/sell out position. Board is still under considerable pressure to restructure mgmt...stock has to break into mid 30's long before shareholders mtg...MM are awaiting some sort of announcement within the next week/two. They, as you know receive impending news before you and I and volumn may be indicative of this. The month of May historically is a slow time for the mkt...coms will most likely move sideways during this period and pick up during June & July in anticipation of what I have stated. There is no doubt in my mind that the investment community will opt to keep technology firmly in the USofA, by driving up the value of these networking concerns! Investors are not going to allow an "inexpensive entry" into our mkt only to compete with them not only here but also abroad! Investors will expect a considerable return on "Intellectual assets"!I will be taking a trip to Vegas this coming tuesday to get a personal look at new products in networking, and possible to hear some news (grapevine) as to 3com sellout/restructuring. Still consider 3com undervalued and an excellent entry point with great upward movement than Cisco.

Regards,
HKirby
