Online brokers processed nearly 50 percent more trades than in the last quarter of 1998. COMMENT: In an unrelated event, Arthur Levin of the SEC went public with some startling statements about how fast daytrading has grown and how dangerous it is. But the growth of online trading remains very strong, growing at well over 100% per year rates.
