From what I can see, service has very little to do with stock price or P/E for the on-line brokerages.

I have accounts with a few on-line brokers and do a lot of trading. Here is my "take" on how to rank the service in terms of executions and account handling, from best to worst:

#1 - Fidelity (the fastest and best)
#2 - Schwab (consistently very good)
#3 - NDB (good executions)
#4 - Ameritrade (fair to poor service)
#5 - E*TRADE (absolutely the worst, rude employees)

So, you can see there is NO relationship between how well a stock does and the service of the on-line broker. E*TRADE and Ameritrade (two of the worst in service) have stocks that are red hot. NDB stock has done pretty well and it's stock has done well, too. Schwab has much better servise than the stock performance would indicate. Fidelity is privately-held.

So stop commenting on service and relating it to stock performance; there is no link between the two!
