I visited the local Time Warner subsidiary booth last weekend at a new product show. They were displaying their new offerings which included the SFA explorer 2000 box. They said that they are in the testing phase, but hopes to roll out VOD in July. Right now they are offering "near" VOD with the SFA box. They have aleady have deployed some "spill" over GI boxes to limited areas, but will deploy all SFA boxes once VOD gets rolled out. The GI boxes that are deployed now don't have the features that the SFA boxes have and only offer an interactive program guide and music channels(much like a radio tuner, no video). As of the show the guy told me that the service would cost $39. a month which includes the channels we get now plus an additional 21 more- Whatever they are(I got the paper at home with the channels but I don't have it with me here). The movies, which he said they have only a limited library now, would cost about $2.99. Of course these aren't the first run movies. I'm sure these numbers would vary depending where you are and if in fact they go with this when they roll it out.

I also asked about other equipment since I'm also a holder of CCUR, he said that they are testing various venders and some "local" ones. I couldn't imagine who that would be. What I took from that was he had no clue about anything else.

The only thing he was sure of was the SFA boxes(which was on display).

Good luck, Scott.
