Kimberlite discovery on Rocking Horse Property
TAHERA CORPORATION (TSE: TAH)
TORONTO, May 10 /CNW/ - Tahera Corporation (''Tahera'') has been advised by its joint venture partner, Kennecott Canada Exploration Inc. (''Kennecott''), that a new kimberlite has been discovered on the Rocking Horse Property. The Rocking Horse Property is located northwest of Tahera's Jericho Diamond Project. The new kimberlite, called ''Altair'', is located on the north end of the Rocking Horse Claims, approximately 60 km north of Takiyuak Lake. The vertically drilled discovery hole encountered kimberlite from approximately 7 meters to 120 meters, where it was stopped in kimberlite due to difficulties with the drilling equipment. Core from the Altair kimberlite will be sent for caustic fusion analysis to determine if the new kimberlite is diamondiferous. The Altair kimberlite discovery represents the first kimberlite occurrence on the Rocking Horse Property, which encompasses approximately 450,000 hectares. Kennecott will continue to drill additional targets on the Rocking Horse Property before the current exploration program is completed by the end of May 1999.
