Keep in mind that stock prices could consolidate for 5 years while the S&P profits double. Improbable but still possible.

I believe that you are conservative... a bear market could take us to a P/E of 5-10 as in 1982. Earnings will likely drop as well... So instead of 40-50% it could be 60-75% drop. Back to 4000 on the DOW.
