JK,

Before I address your question on MSFT options, I have to state that I am getting as bullish as I have ever been regarding MSFT's future.

As I have digested the news of the past two weeks and today (Nextel and EU approval) I find myself starting to believe that MSFT may indeed be able to make up lost ground on the internet front and simultaneously execute its overall business strategies in all its markets.

The reason -- it's simple -- BALLMER.

Thank God we have him. I am starting to see a truly aggressive strategy taking shape on the Redmond campus, a strategy that is evolving around the world after the pc OS is commoditized. This development in the mindset of management and Ballmer's ability to rally the troops around additional, broader senses of purpose are the keys to MSFT maintaining its historical growth rates well into the next millenium.

I am quite happy with what I am seeing. I have been saying for the past month that I expected some major announcements from MSFT -- guess what, we are getting them now. And I expect there's still more to come.

Having said this, I am staying away from MSFT and most other options for most of the summer. I still have my DELL May 45s, but that is it. Hopefully I will have my chance to exit in the near future. The summer months have historically been slow for the internet sector and the high tech sector, so I see the upcoming months as a crap shoot. I don't like to play options unless I have better odds than that.

I am, however, starting to add to my core MSFT holdings at these levels. You'd be crazy not to. MSFT is looking better and better with each passing announcement...
