Greetings Mark,

The talk about internet or information appliances is everywhere now. There was recently an article in EETIMES that suggests the prophesied market is having trouble taking off. No one has come up with the "killer app" yet. This year you'll notice that e-mail capable cell phones are coming out. Notice today's announcement of Microsoft and Nextel joining to provide wireless access to MSN - Very interesting.

But the comment that the technology has to become "invisible" is very interesting. The comment was made in EETIMES that Voice recognition is the great "enabling" technology for information appliances. But for this to happen will require lots of processing and lot of math. You might want to look at the WIND thread for some of this discussion. WIND has taken a bad hit recently but figures to win big if every the information appliances take off.
