LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 10, 1999--NBase-Xyplex, a leading

Communications Inc. (Nasdaq:MRVC) Monday announced that its
high-performance Linux Router, the OSR8040, was named a finalist in
the Network Infrastructure category of the Networld + Interop '99 Best
of Show Awards.
Winners, selected by Data Communications and InternetWeek
editors, will be announced on May 12th.
Introduced last month and debuting this week at Networld +
Interop, the NBase-Xyplex high-performance Linux Router is the first
Open system dedicated switch/router to use the Linux operating system.
The announcement was received with enthusiasm and has been featured
in several leading networking publications. General availability is
scheduled for Q3 '99. The Linux Router was developed and will be
manufactured by the NBase division in Israel.
The Networld + Interop Best of Show Product Awards is designed to

The OSR8040 is a Linux switch router in an 18-slot chassis with
a 40 Gigabit per second routing fabric, frame and cell scheduling, and
high-speed ASICs, supporting up to 26 million packets per second of

architecture of Linux to create a seamless, high-performance
enterprise switch routing package for enterprise and service provider
networks.
The OSR8040 is the first high-performance Linux Router using the
strength, flexibility and scalability of an "Open" architecture,

A special feature is the programmable "Packet Flow Processors" for
