good rebuttle but... >>Your assuming BoA will be successful, a very big assumption. Fact: BoA is having trouble signing up billers for their service, why do you think this is?
because the field isn't large enough yet. the more people want bills, the more billers will be available. all this talk is between biller and individual. where are the corporations in this play. will GE or GM go to mybills or yahoo. no they will go to their bank. portals have the users now because the net is new and everyone uses yahoo, msn or aol. bills are just another service that the portals have to offer to be competitive with each other. a small piece of their pie.
>>True, and why is that? CheckFree as been around for 20 years, many challengers have come and gone.
but many more are just starting, e-bill is a new concept that is just starting to catch corporate attention. many more will come.
>>It has taken TransPoint 3 years to get 4 billers on-line, why do you think BoA will be able to do what Microsoft is having extreme difficulty doing? Will it take BoA three years?
are u saying that if i'm a msn user i will have to go to mybills to collect my wells fargo invoices. no chance, the biller will send my invoices to wherever i want, or they will loose my business and most will choose the bank. why does it take 4 days to reflect payment on my credit card when i use CKFR. because CKFR is acting as a like-bank and have to ensure they don't get stuck with a NSF. unacceptable to me. the minute i pay the bill, i want it reflected on my statement. only the real banks can offer that. many users will realize that.
>>>You are missing a very big point...."pay-anyone".
you are assuming i want to pay everyone. i want one stop shopping, banking,broker,insurance..that's why i'm saying there will be consolidation and CKFR will be aquired by someone who will provide that service.
gotta work now.. but i appreciate your p.o.v. |
