Precisely. Heck, even your daughter's softball game couldn't proceed unless the umpire were allowed to make calls, and they were allowed to stand. Otherwise, it would degenerate into a squabble, and play would end. (Of course, you still have the right to complain about the umpire's ruling on the way home:-))....
