Tim: why the Chinese are pissed off That is a really self-centered point of view. Should we pay attention to a thug complaining police brutality? Taiwanese and Tibetan will think otherwise. If Chinese don't care about human rights why should we care about theirs? I would not be surprise if US is not thrilled if Taiwan and China do reunite. Wait! What about Taiwan is not thrilled to reunite to China? 'Double standard' means what you preach and what you do are completely different People in Kosovo have been slaughtered, Do something if you are a human being. I donate as much as I can to Red Cross. What has Chinese government done? Nothing! If Chinese has no plan to do anything to solve the crisis, at least they can do is to stay out of there. But no, they stay there. If Chinese don't care about thousands of people's lives, why they care so much about 3 lives? Isn't it double standard? I think Chinese are still suffering post-opium-war inferiority syndrome,imaging those western imperialism is going to invade China again. But rest of the world think China is the "evil empire". regards
