Legend Computer, China's largest homegrown computer OEM (was behind IBM only in total sales in 98) signed an agreement with Syquest in late 1997 to include Syquest drives on several of it's models. Most of those models were typically sold to Govt. institutions in China. Now, however, the same institutions are replacing the drives with zips - possibly one reason why IOM sales in Asia were up (relative to China per IOM). It will be interesting to see what Legend does relative to full zip inclusion with it's local competitor (Founder) offering zips and, of course, Syquest out of the picture.
