ICA BOARD APPROVES PLAN TO EXPAND BUSINESS INTERESTS INTO INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

Press Release, May 10/99

The Management of International CanAlaska Resources Ltd ("ICA") is pleased to announce that the Board of Directors approved a plan to expand ICA's business interests beyond mining exploration and development. The Management of ICA will direct their expertise in raising venture capital, arranging joint ventures and managing public companies to acquiring interests in emerging business opportunities in the field of Information Technology.

In order to optimize this diversification, an Advisor Committee is being formed to assist Management in identifying and qualifying potential Information Technology companies. Members of this Advisory Committee are selected from related business, investment and scientific fields to reflect different aspects of the new business initiative. The core members are already confirmed and a press release will be issued as soon as the Advisory Committee is fully constituted.

ICA will consider investments in partnerships or participation in companies whose fundamental activities are the development, application and use of technology in the fields of new media, internet, e-commerce and related ventures.

ICA Management is studying several avenues to ensure that shareholders receive maximum value for the Company's current portfolio of mining properties. The strategy to retain and enhance value in these properties will be announced when finalized.

ICA Management believes that key components for the future success of the new initiative include a strong Advisory Committee, cooperation with selected Information Technology companies having innovative, achievable business objectives and a well considered plan of action. These strengths will be utilized in entering a new field of activities with new opportunities and visions.
