lml, interesting note on BLS, they are installing HLIT's MetroDWDM system. I talked with an engineer from South Florida the other day,and he said they are dropping fiber optic cable underneath I-95 in South Florida right now. He said they are planning massive FTTC installations in South Florida. They must be since they are installing MetroDWDM systems from HLIT.
BLS is the most aggressive of the RBOC's,they are going balls to the wall to install fiber optics. VDSL cannot be too far away from where they are right now.
