For that matter, I like most flowers - a lot. But I don't grow that many myself. For one thing, I really don't have the time. Besides, most of the showier flowers (like glads) need full sun all of the time, if they are to be at their best. I have too many trees to give them that; no part of the back lawn gets sun more than 50% of the time. So I content myself with planting (from flats) impatiens every year, and with hanging baskets of tuberous begonias (the one showy flower I know of that likes shade) all along the fence...

What I need is recommendations for late-summer, early-fall blooming flowers and/or bushes that tolerate shade. Anyone have any? No pink, please...
