The largest ever Internet convention in China entitled "China Internet Conference & Exhibition '99 (ChinaInet'99) " is to be held at the Beijing International Convention Center May 18-20, 1999.
ChinaInet'99 is the very first Internet event hosted by the newly-formed Ministry of Information Industry (MII) , P. R. China. MII will use this unique platform to deliver its policy decisions, new regulations, and national Internet strategies for China. The event will lead China's information economy into the 21st century by fostering communication between the international Internet community, the Chinese Internet community, government bodies, and multinational corporations. ChinaInet is also a showcase for the latest Internet technology, products and solutions. The show expects to have 5,000 conference attendees and 50,000 exhibition attendees.
ChinaInet'99 will be attended by officials, executives and professionals from its State council 22 component ministries and commissions and from agencies and organizations in charge of information infrastructure in 30 provinces and municipalities such as provincial Capital, Municipal, county, branch administrations and offices of telecommunications. Present at the conference are also leading manufacturers, ISP, ICP in great numbers.
