I have answered all the "arguments" many, many times previously at ASK GOD, ASK JOHN GALT and even here in the early days. I am weary of having to answer the same ignorant arguments over and over again.
Plus, it is impossible to assist the blind in seeing if they choose to remain blind. Ayn Rand referred to the breakdown in the reasoning process as "blank-out". I observe that blank-out often dominates this thread.
There is no such thing as a "fundamentalist" Objectivist, nor is Objectivism a religion -- it becomes such only to irrational, misguided followers who are, in my opinion, rightly termed "Randians".
PC is symptomatic of the mutable "values" eroding this country. That the media, especially the entertainment media, often aims for the lowest common denominator is another symptom. Conservatives and liberals are both mystics. Group "rights" are taking predominance over individual rights. The "liberties" many enjoy are now at the expense of others' liberties and freedoms. The American people as a whole are being willingly lulled by the modern day version of the old Roman's Bread and Circuses. The political system is philosophically bankrupt.
If children were taught objectively, rewarded objectively and disciplined objectively, most would have no need to discover a sense of self (a false sense) within another version of the tribe at its most base: the gang.
Those that say the difficulties we face and the breakdowns we are experiencing are caused by TOO MUCH freedom are fools or worse. The definitions are already defined within the blueprints that mapped out the creation of this country. All other definitions are personal and to be applied by the individual for the individual -- not to be subverted or challenged unless one individual subverts, undermines or harms the true rights of another individual. If you do not comprehend the difference between a mob of mystics arbitrarily creating "laws", or those that are objectively based on individual rights and freedoms, then you are part of the problem.
To say continuously defining, redefining, accepting and working within objective reality is a religion is ludicrous. If such was the case, then science is a "religion", which it most certainly is not -- at least not if it avoids stultifying dogma based on wishful thinking. The scientific method is actually a form of Objectivism itself. |
