I have been re-evaluating my position in GEMS. And have just finished reading the following May 2nd article: cbs.marketwatch.com clueless.htx?source=blq/yhoo&dist=yhoo (I had to put the URL on 2 lines, you must combine both to enter it.) The article portrays a pretty grim outlook for GEMS, stating that its future depends almost exclusively on the pager market which has been taking a beating at the hands of cellular and PCS phone growth. Also cited are the stories we heard recently about the problems GEMS has had with their two-way pagers. The falling revenues of pagers in North America make me wonder whether this is dead money unless mgmt is able to make some smart moves. (I did not realize that current temporary chairman Ramon Aridzonne was formerly at the helm of GEMS in their heyday.) I am curious as to what gives you folks confidence going forward, other than the historically (6-year) low price?
