With regards to the news article, You got to wonder if Ledoux intentionally planned to open those containers the day before just so they could allow an easy alibi for use later. How convenient it would be to use the "contamination" theme to enable Ledoux to justify walking away from the truth (as history eventually taught us). Maybe for business reasons Ledoux just wanted out; therefore they figured out a way to wash their hands of Naxos. By Screwing up the COC, they could deny validation.
