common gardenia
lady's-eardrops
tree peony
rhododendron

only full shade shrubs i know of is the viburnums and hydrangea

late summer bloomers, not many
blooming into late summer

vinca
cyclamen
liriope
some hostas

you might want to go for colorful autumn foliage instead

shrub, euonymus, outstanding red
shrub, cotoneaster, burnt orange
boston ivy, turns scarlet
