Eicon Technology Introduces DIVA Primary Rate ISDN Server Family - New Server Cards with V.90 Support Cuts Costsand Improves Flexibility
MAY 11, 1999 LAS VEGAS, NEVADA--Eicon Technology, a leading worldwide provider of remote access hardware, today announced the introduction of their DIVA Server PRI, high end, digital remote access interface cards. The DIVA Server PRI cards are plug-and-play compliant, single slot PCI adapters featuring on-board Digital Signal Processor (DSP) technology which concurrently support inbound and outbound communication using ISDN, GSM mobile phones or V.90 analog modems, all over a single ISDN PRI line. DIVA Server PRI serves as a complete end-to-end connectivity solution for medium to large enterprises, offering fax, data and RAS capabilities. The flexibility of these cards allows compagnies with large numbers of remote workers to easily provide remote access to their corporate networks without purchasing additional hardware. "The DIVA Server PRI cards combine highly integrated V.90 analog and digital communications in a single package, thereby eliminating the need to purchase, install and support multiple hardware devices," said Ken Gingrich, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales and Marketing Operations, Eicon Technology. "Eicon's PRI family is specifically designed to meet the needs of medium to large enterprises, providing highly flexible performance on a single card." Designed with a highly intuitive Setup Wizard for easy integration with Windows NT(R), the DIVA Server PRI provides users with connections speeds of 128 kbps over ISDN and is completely V.90 compatible for speeds up to 56 kbps when using an analog line. The fax server capabilities include complete CAPI 2.0 support making the DIVA Server PRI cards full function fax servers. New fax features include: compression standards, Modified Read (MR) and Modified Modified Read (MMR), enabling users to achieve considerable cost savings through increased fax speed. Also included is support for Fax Polling that allows documents stored on the server to be retrieved when needed by using specific extension numbers when connecting, and Dual Tone Multi Frequency support for touch-tone services used by computer telephony systems. Additionally, emulation for Class 1 and Class 2 fax modems is supported via virtual ISDN modems to allow existing modem-based applications to be used over an ISDN line. The DIVA Server PRI is certified by Security Dynamics as fully compatible with their market leading ACE/Server(R) and SecurID(R) authentication technologies. Other forms of security offered include TACAS+ authentication and callback. The DIVA Server PRI is certified for worldwide ISDN switches and international phone systems. The DIVA Server PRI family, to be available in May 1999, includes different versions of the server card: the full blown versions for the United States and Japan (DIVA Server PRI-23M) and Europe (DIVA Server PRI-30M) and an ISDN only version (DIVA Server PRI PCI).
