Bangs test ---

when a rancher sells cattle, the critters must be tested and have a clear certificate of health ... ie, the Bangs test

should a single cow test positive, the entire herd will be put under quarantine and CAN'T be sold .... as you can imagine, this puts an ennormous burden on the rancher and many times causes bankruptcy ...

so around here we joke that the visiting *foreigners* ie yankees must be Bangs tested to keep from infecting our cows .....

a similar ailment for horses predominately is called
equine encephelitas (sp) ....

here is the NY call on the Bangs ...
nevdgp.org.au

now, I'm not going to look up the horse stuff ..... ggggggg
