The contaminated collectors was Ledoux's statement.

If I remember correctly (which admittedly may not be the case) I seem to remember that Ledoux asked naxos to pay the largest protions of the bill upfront(before the whole snafu occurred).
Now, you may ask why Naxos doesn't ask for the $$$ back, but we both know that would take lawyers, litigation, and $$$$$. Take a look at naxos financial situation, they would burn through any financial resources well before any legal conclusion was reached.
