There are two kinds of dodecahedra - rhombic and pentagonal.

Garnets are classic cases of the rhombic dodecahedron. I have seen pentagon dodecahedra in pyrite, but I suspect they are rare.

I might check out the San Mateo show - that's half an hour from here.
