Off topic (I wish I had something to say about GTIS rumors)

I pay $39 for the service and $10 for the ISP portion. It came with free installation and a free NIC. The DSL modem was $50. Service is 640kbs downstream and 90kbs upstream. I could have opted for 1.6mbs downstream...$59 for the service and $40 ISP portion. 640 is really fast. DSL utilizes your current phone line, but splits the line so you can use it for voice at the same time.

One myth perpetuated by the phone companies is that there is no "pooling" of bandwidth with DSL; cf. cable modems. My understanding is that DSL can be pooled just like cable modems, except that the pooling occurs nearer the switch (after?). I could look it up if anyone is interested....my simple point is that DSL can be oversubscribed as can a cable modem; you share the bandwidth at some point. I can attest to this as you can experience lag during peak hours.

So what's with GTIS? I actually bought some more shares the other day....thank you Alex, BTW....and someone must have a line into some E3 news? I read something about a sports game on the yahoo thread? Is this an acquisition or an investment?
