Sam...WOW uses a lot of matrix algebra in its data handling and calculations and some formulas which you could do manually won't work in WOW. Typically, you can't enter a single value in where it wants a "Data Array" and vice versa. A Data Array is a list of numbers, such as OPEN, CLOSE, VOLUME, etc., a single number would be like the result from PERIODSSINCE, HHV, LLV, etc. In the older versions of WOW, it would give you a message to "Ignore" or "Abort" (or something like that). The new 5.0 Pro 32 bit crashes dead away and doesn't give you a chance to at least save what you have.

For example, the formula Derek has in his Home Page apparently works in MS, but crashes in WOW:

10000*(slope((close,63)/close)-1) Here, WOW doesn't like the Data Array "Close" in the denominator, as the "slope" creates a single number by the way the algorithm evaluates the expression.

This can be very frustrating and is simply another WOW quirk we must endure if we choose to use the program. WOW has certainly shown no inclination to fix these annoyances.

With gritted teeth sympathy....Bill
