Maybe so. I just wouldn't want to see them take their eye off their core competence, where they will make a difference and stand out. I feel that the importance of their following through with massively rich amounts of the optical component requires all of the attention GBLX has to afford at this time. There will only be one first and long standing company to dominate the globe with fiber deployment. Others will follow, to be sure, but the stakes and the rewards are both high to become the uncontested leader, at this time.

There are thousands, probably tens of thousands, of email providers and outsourcing firms, including ISPs, VARs, what have you, scrambling for low margin scraps. If it helps them get their foot into some doors without suffering from distraction, then I suppose there is an argument to be made. But it still causes me to wonder about the grand plan. Then again, I've always felt this way about them, from the start.
