Aus, Art, et al,

I am heartily in favor of Sandisk's arrangement with Kodak. I mentioned the drawbacks to OEM arrangements because a brand name can be an important factor for a consumer product. You have noted yourself--with dismay--when Lexar outsells Sandisk. One of the most effective ways to counter that is to create a brand name presence. If you do not have that type of recognition, any customer in a retail outlet will simply pick the lowest price.

If I seem overly concerned with this, please forgive me, but I'm in public relations, and, I guess, I view everything in marketing terms.

Jim
