Hmm, you are correct sir! It will not be robust enough for the broadband consumer. But that isn't the target customer. There are too few of those today. How many boring old analog TV are there to hook up a simple minded 56k modem base analog settop box to? Compare that to the number of broadband consumers there will be between now and christmas. It's a cheapo box that uses plain old 56k modem technology and probably sells at cost. It absolutly has the potential to bring in a whole new bunch of subscribers. No additional DSL charges, no extra Cable Modem fees and its not limited to just the broadband customer set... Foot in the door? You bet.
