Because one effort takes resources away from the other. Its the first tenant of all economics -- opportunity cost! This dilemma could be overcome if there were some synergy between the two projects, but I cannot think of anything more divergent.

I presume we can expect a special general meeting to approve a major departure in the company's operations?
