Bill,
Thanks for posting that information. My one comment/concern as to the value of the DSL Providers, is the "standards" problem. It is simply mind-boggling all the xDSL services available! Add to that, the variable speeds a customer can receive, it really creates a lot of confusion. I'm not sure how a ILEC can explain to their customers that someone down the street is going to have much better access than you are, etc. Also what about all the equipment? Will a ILEC be wanting to purchase equipment that may not be compatible with their plans to roll out another type of DSL service?

It certainly isn't like buying a MSO's cable plant. Coaxial is pretty much (relatively speaking) coaxial. The standards are just so much better with HFC. This is the part that concerns me when evaluating what the current DSL Providers network will be worth to the ILECs when the time comes for them to be bought. They seem to be moving into the CO's like ants lately, each with their own particular services...

Well time to listen in live to Cisco's CC via the net. Should be interesting.
Thanks for your comments,
MikeM(From Florida)
