PW,

Got my ramdrive working (looks like a mechanical centipede IMO). Haven't really tried it out yet. Actually, I took it back off. Seems I lost my E: drive. Well, the drive is still there but it doesn't show up in My Computer.

After installing the ramdrive, on the first bootup I got an error saying that the FAT's don't match. I ignored the error and all that scandisk stuff and in My Computer I had C: and D: drives and F:, the ramdrive. E: was missing.

I removed the ramdrive from config.sys, deleted the e: drive using fdisk and re-created it using fdisk and then formatted it, but it still doesn't show up in My good old Computer.

Luckily, it's not a big deal, since there was nothing on it -- I just used it for my swap file. Don't know what I did wrong. Actually, don't really know what I did <g>.

Is there something in the registry that controls the drive letters?

This is getting interesting.

TIA
