Laptop crash:
First don't panic. Plenty of time for that later.
Is your system new? My Dell came with a hidden 'feature' which a tech support guy used to get my system back. Worked like a charm. Call your supplier first.
Did you make a backup? This thread had a few posts recently telling how to backup your stuff. If you made the backup, you can restore with about 30 minutes work.
If you need to reload from CD, the worst case, except for losing your disk. (Or the product key!)
HOWEVER, YOU MAY BE LUCKY!! Sometimes reloading Win98, Setup will find your original settings and apply these to your reloaded Win98. You MAY get your system back without TOO much effort.
Anyway, to reload Win98, put in CD, Click Start, Run, Browse, (Point to CD DRIVE, often D) type in SETUP, pray, and answer the questions when they are asked.
Make sure you have Product Key available.
Hope this helps, PW.
