It's pretty quiet out there! IMO, the most significant news of the day for networking companies was the deployment of the Avici terabit switch router. Nortel finally has the big core IP switch. Cisco does not have one. Lucent/Ascend has an ATM core switch but no IP core switch. I am pleased they are far enough in the development of this switch to allow its deployment in a live network. This is a first. We should be excited about this development but nobody on this thread or anyother thread seems to care. Any comments? Ken
