Of course you are right Bill, I was trying to be a little sarcastic. On the other hand I'm not sure their aren't central bankers today who do believe gold's role is passe in the same manner that some people believe that hedge funds have been able to eliminate risk! It is the same delusion that many investors are under now, which is if it is working at the moment then it must be fundamentally sound. Well we know fundamentals change, as will the value of the pound sterling and all those .com companies commanding p/e's in the hundreds.
