Quantum Technology to Create Registered Broker-Dealer Affiliate
MALIBU, Calif., May 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Quantum Technology Corp. (OTC Bulletin Board: QTTK - news), ''has directed the Company's counsel, Foley & Lardner, to begin the process of creating a registered Broker-Dealer affiliate. It is estimated that the registration process will be completed within the next 60 to 90 days,'' Donald Beck, Chairman and CEO, announced today. ''With the outstanding results of Quantum's live NYSE Day Trading trial, the Company is moving forward with the establishment of a registered Broker-Dealer affiliate. The Broker-Dealer affiliate will enable us to begin marketing and deploying Quantum's trading products by our anticipated mid-summer launch date,'' Mr. Beck said. The Company plans to make the technology available exclusively to Quantum shareholders. Shareholders willing to invest at least $1 million will be able to participate directly with the Broker-Dealer affiliate. Shareholders with less than $1 million to invest will have their portfolios managed by independent investment advisors that will contract with the Broker-Dealer affiliate. Quantum's Proprietary NYSE Day Trading Technology returned a cumulative performance return of 2550% during a nine month trading trial which ended December 31, 1998. During the same period the S&P Index increased 11%. This trading trial was a continuation of the Company's first extended live trading trial for Day Trading of NYSE equities. Quantum previously reported a cumulative performance return of 1213% for the six-month period which ended September 30, 1998. The results were audited and attested to in accordance with stringent Level II examination under AIMR standards by the international accounting firm, KPMG LLP. The report, in its entirety, can be viewed on Quantum's Website at www.qttk.com. The initial NYSE six-month audited trial began on April 1, 1998 with an investment of $29,725 which, on September 30, 1998, had grown to $390,578. At the conclusion of the nine-month trial which ended December 31, 1998, the investment increased to $759,521, a total cumulative performance return of 2550%. Quantum's core technology, which is the foundation of the Company, has been under development for more than 16 years. It incorporates a combination of hardware, software and satellite-fed data, which produces real-time non-discretionary alphanumeric instructions. Purely technical in character, the system gives no consideration to fundamental investment analysis elements, nor does it consider technical analysis techniques that are employed to predict the price trends of the market or individual securities. Instead, the technology discretely analyzes each trade of the financial instrument to which it is applied and determines the impact of each trade. The operating technician receives real-time non-discretionary alphanumeric instructions to direct the precise trade execution.
