Actually, if we, in jury situations, were allowed to decide on the "justness" of a law (and indeed we are given that right - we just aren't told about it), then I am confident that more laws would be rapidly altered. However, it is the lawyers' (and by extension, since 90% of all politicians are lawyers) best interest to keep the jury system in chains and uninformed of their rights and maintain an ever growing body of law that is indecipherable to the elite few who rule us.
