Re Producer Gold Selling

Hi DD,

Perhaps I am wrong, but I got the impression from some of the articles posted here, that some producers (Barrick???) might be selling more gold in a given time frame than they produce ... hence speculating on a decline in price, rather than hedging current or near-term production ... I believe this was based on the firms reporting much higher 'hedging' profits than could be explained by true hedging.

Do you or anyone else have any comments on this? If true, it would make the potential for a very sharp increase in the price of gold a likely scenario at some point.

John
