Other random thoughts- what lessons can we all take from this experience to help us invest better/smarter in the future? May I suggest one and that is that, just because some behemoth decides to drop $5, $10, or $20 million in the bank account of some start up with a new idea, it does not mean that a) the product works, b) the product will sell and the company will be successful, and c) the MBAs at the behemoth know what they are doing. While that amount of money seems impressive to the start up starved for capital, it is small enough that a rounding error can make it disappear from the behemoth's balance sheet and it is probably less than the CEO's bonus. I doubt very much that anyone at SGP is going to get the axe for having put money into ZONA. <<With all the other great stocks to play, who would want to have dead money in ZONA for a year, betting on a very bad bet that it will get FDA approval for Vasomax?>> Perhaps the same people who have had dead money for the past year in VVUS, FSTW or any one of a number of stocks I can think of that are sure to turn around some day (maybe).
