p.s. UNIX boxes crash too, I should know as I've been a UNIX developer for 8 years on HP-UX, SunOS, Solaris and friends.

I was comparing a pre-built DELL box versus a Sun workstation. Quality is equal if not better in the components and you have a wider variety of replacement parts at cheaper prices.

It's obvious your argument is wrong since 80% of the corporate world runs Windows 95/98/NT on the desktop. It's the most cost effective and gives workers the most productive set of office applications (period). Sun and other UNIX vendors dropped the ball on the desktop, and they'll soon see that on the bottom line. SGI sees the trend and as a result their latest workstations are N-WAY NT machines.
