The OnStream drive is a tape but it is quite unique in that it is completely usable as a removable "disk" device. It was implemented with a full file system in both 98 and NT so you can use it with any application. Works great for video and music playback....besides traditional backup uses. Another unique aspect is that the backup application also allows retrieval from any application.

The software for the OnStream drive was developed by 1Vision Software. Iomega features one of 1Vision's products, 1Disk on their website. 1Disk provides a drive letter access catalog to to all Zip disks. Anyway, its interesting technology....
