From what I heard there have been a few minor changes that came around from Intel's early tests of their Auburn. The motherboard needs a totally different chipset to run AGP and it was last heard that it would be late this year before they actually ramped up production for these and it will only be for one board - getting them into the mainstream will take a little longer.

I wouldn't necessarily expect to see any AGP coming out for the holidays, it is mainly aimed at the high-end workstation market running under NT at the present. For Microsoft to survive they're going to have to put out a new operating system to sell to the home user anyway and Intel needs something new to help sell the newer pentiums - all of this will likely start to come together in the middle of next year sometime and will be meant to be the next generation of PCs. It will still be hard to convince the general public that they need these overpowered machines into the home market.
