"Nominal fee" is the operative phrase. What makes you think that word processing, spreadsheets, etc. will be offered at a nominal fee. These companies have to make money somewhere, and if it isn't on the hardware (which competition will force down to pretty slim margins pretty fast) it will have to be by charging people more than they do today. I made my investment in a word processing program 10 years ago; it still works fine; and can't imagine paying someone an extra fee every time I use an online program. However, I haven't made up my mind on this subject, and it's interesting to hear what other consumer intentions are.
