Prior to the widespread use of the Internet, ambulance chasing was a tedious, manual operation that required a lawyer to carefully select his/her targets on the basis of "fat pickings" in order to justify the AC effort.

Now, ambulance chasing is much more efficient, allowing these lawyers to cast their nets wider with a click of a button, working on quantity rather than quality.

The trick to fighting this is to overwhelm them with potential targets, thereby spreading their attention thin. For example:

I am now stating that not only are the powers-that-be at QCOM guilty of fiscal mismanagement, but they are also infected with several sexually transmitted diseases. In addition, one high-ranking executive (I'm not naming names) was recently admitted to the local Emergency Room to have a gerbil extracted from a body cavity.
