Greg, after reading some of your comments and examining the financial statements, I decided to watch SPYG more closely. The company looks as if it has great promise, but I'm wondering what the impacts on company fortunes would be if:
1. Microsoft gets hit with a court order in the antitrust suit enjoining it from dominating wireless access software (i.e., splitting the company).
2. Microsoft sees its return on investment dropping and starts squeezing its contract suppliers (a very common event when a dominant company wants to increase profits).
While the statistics on QCOM are still better than SPYG, which, with a book value of a little over $2 per share is selling at about 10 times book, this is still not all that high for internet related stocks.
The recent sales increases, while decent enough, are not tremendous. Is this market developing more slowly than expected (i.e., a format for internet access by devices that are smaller than computers)? Art |
