Claimsnet.com Launches SERVICES.NOW, its Second-Generation Website for
Expanding Suite of Healthcare Provider Transactions
Proprietary Web-based Technology Accommodates Expanding List of
Cost-Competitive Provider Services and Sharp Ramp-Up in New Subscribers
DALLAS, May 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Claimsnet.com inc. (Nasdaq: CLAI), a
leading provider of online healthcare transaction processing, today announced
the launch of SERVICES.NOW, its second-generation Website for healthcare
provider transactions and practice management services for the medical and
dental industries. SERVICES.NOW is driven by Claimsnet.com's powerful,
proprietary Web-based technology, which has been significantly enhanced to
accommodate the Company's expanding list of highly cost-competitive provider
management services. This second generation Web site represents a
multimillion-dollar investment, and will serve the Company's ambitious product
line expansion and sharp ramp-up in number of subscribers and transactions.
The enhanced Claimsnet.com technology has been designed to accommodate a
25-fold increase in subscriber transactions for a nearly unlimited number of
services at a reduced processing cost to the Company. This second generation
Web site and its underlying proprietary technology are critical components of
the Company's 18-month business expansion plan.
SERVICES.NOW online healthcare transaction processing services are offered
on a highly cost-competitive per transaction fee or monthly subscription basis
and include:
Claims.now -- The Company's core Internet-based claim processing service
for HCFA 1500 and ADA 1990 claims, accepted directly from existing practice
management systems. Real-time edits for immediate error detection, online
claim status reports and simple online tutorials make this the easiest EDI
processing available.
Statements.now -- Patient billing statements are prepared and sent using
Statements.now, which accepts, customizes, prints, barcodes and mails
statements with a return envelope for a little more than the cost of a stamp.
Eligibility and Referrals.now -- Submit and acquire real-time patient
eligibility and referral requests immediately online for a low monthly
subscription.
Partners.now -- As providers require other related Internet services, the
Company will link and market services of strategic partners and affiliates.
Claimsnet.com's partnership with @Backup allows providers to use their
Internet connection to perform safe, reliable, automatic backups of hard drive
data.
In commenting on this event, Bo W. Lycke, chairman and chief executive
officer of Claimsnet.com, said, "Services.now represents a substantial
investment of time and capital by the Company, in the interest of laying a
foundation for the planned aggressive expansion of our business. Our
scalable, efficient Web-based technology distinguishes Claimsnet.com from
other providers of healthcare administrative services and allows for our very
distinctive competitive advantages well into the future. We are highly
invested in maintaining these advantages and in being able to accommodate a
most promising market for our growing list of provider services."
Founded in 1996, Claimsnet.com inc. is a provider of secure, online
transaction processing services for the medical and dental industries.
Headquartered in Dallas, Claimsnet.com offers a proprietary system that is
distinguished by ease of use, customer care, security and measurable cost
advantages. The 1998 claims processing market included 4.4 billion
transactions, of which only 62 percent were electronic. Claimsnet.com
completed its Initial Public Offering on April 6, 1999, and trades on the
Nasdaq Smallcap under the symbol "CLAI" and on the Boston Stock Exchange under
the symbol "CLA". More information on Claimsnet.com can be found at
