For what it's worth, I saw an interview with Mr. B. in which he said cash holdings of BRK are now at $15B and that as a percentage of holdings, they have been that high only twice before. So (a) he believes the stocks are volnerable to big down side. And (b) by buying BRK you are buying a lot of cash. Of course no one knows how high the stock market can go, but in comparison to the interest rates, they are now almost 40% overvalued. In the past overvaluations of more than 20% was met with a "correction" or just sideways movement. Then again, I could have said this 30 basis points ago with DJIA around 10,000, so what do I know.
