Charles,

Re: "I will tell you where my head is ... if AMD moves substantial amount
of production to the mid-range or high-end ..."

Chuckles ... I'm very "tempted" to respond in a way that could have me removed
from SI. <ggg> BTW, AMD has already tried your suggestion ... The K6-2 400mhz, K6-2 450mhz, and K6-3 450mhz were supposed to get AMD into
the mid-range. AMD had "process problems" with each of these that limited
the volume and accounted for a "disasterous" Q1 loss ... remember ?? In fact,
the K6-3 450mhz is very rare these days ... Almost like finding a new species, IMHO.

Now everyone is expecting the K7 to come to the rescue ... With larger
die size and the need to push frequency to 600mhz, AMD will also have
limited delivery/supply of these parts as well ... I mean, who really
does want a 400mhz K7 ?? Maybe only Scumbria. <ggg>

Make It So,
Yousef
